Ryan Gallivan, MD
Central Oregon Ear Nose & ThroatRyan has been living and working in Central Oregon since 2002.  Prior to his arrival, he spent a dedicated year pursuing an advanced fellowship in complex Sinus Surgery and Rhinology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.  Upon graduation in 2002, he was one of approximately 20 fellowship-trained rhinologists in the United States.  He declined academic appointments at multiple institutions to practice and raise his family in Central Oregon.  He is now a partner at Central Oregon Ear, Nose and Throat. He and his wife have 4 children and love Central Oregon.

As past president of the Central Oregon Medical Society and as a current board member of the Central Oregon IPA, he has frequent contact with the provider community and understands their concerns. He continues to be a strong spokesperson for the medical community and provides valuable insight to HealthMatters of Central Oregon.  In addition, as medical advisor for Proxense, LLC, and Co-Developer of the ProxMed application suite, he is intimately involved in healthcare IT infrastructure solutions that will provide an integrated hardware/software system to regional healthcare facilities, clinics and offices. His goal is to promote adoption of innovative technology to help improve management of chronic disease. Central Oregon is uniquely situated to become a model for health care reform. The combination of investing in cutting edge technology infrastructure and the adoption of electronic medical records will result in a regional health information exchange.  This in turn would result in improved care, long term cost savings and serve as a model for care regionally and nationally.

Ryan graduated from the University of California Berkeley in 1990 with a B.S. in Political Economics and a minor in Spanish.  Subsequently, in 1996 he obtained his M.D. at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.  He completed residency in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the University of California at Irvine, Medical Center.
